Recording artist Akon is in the country at the invitation of President Uhuru Kenyatta. Akon met Uhuru in Washington a few months ago, where a September date was set for his visit.

Akon, through his lighting Africa project, affirmed his commitment to support Government’s initiative to light up Kibera and other selected parts of rural Kenya. Uhuru on his part promised to give him all the support he needs.
